Black Rock is constantly dedicated to serving our clients

Black Rock has officially been certified as a Women Business Enterprise (WBE) by the state of New Jersey.

POSTED October 15, 2015

This is a significant milestone for our company. Not only does the WBE credential open the door to additional contract opportunities and allow us to expand the marketing for our firm, but perhaps the most important aspect of the new WBE certification is that it will greatly benefit our clients in the public and private sectors who want and need to work with WBE businesses in order to satisfy state and federal mandates.

The state encourages WBE certification so private firms and municipal governments can accurately track the percentage of contracts and work distributed to WBE firms. Previously, Black Rock could assist our clients with every single aspect of their project, but we could not assist them in fulfilling any of their government mandated contracting goals.

Now, in addition to our our professional expertise and quality work in the heavy highway construction field, Black Rock will provide the added benefit of counting toward a client’s WBE requirments.

Specific criteria for becoming WBE certified:
• You must be able to demonstrate that 51 percent of your business is owned, managed, and
directed by a woman or women on a daily basis.
• The woman owner(s) must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident alien.

This certification is built upon the years of hard work and dedication. It was made possible by all of our clients who
believed in the Black Rock promise. It was made possible by every employee, the management and every single
member of our staff. Step by step, Black Rock has built its reputation as a leader in the New Jersey heavy highway
construction industry, and this WBE certification marks another service that will aid in our goal of providing our
clients with the absolute best heavy highway contstruction services in New Jersey.
